Stellar Advisory Services – About Us.

Stellar Advisory Services was established in 2011 to provide specialist services in the water planning, water management and water entitlement disciplines associated with primary production, mining and petroleum & gas operations. Tom Crothers is the Principal and sole Director of the Company. A brief outline of his extensive experience and knowledge is presented below.

Since establishing Stellar Advisory Services, Tom Crothers has provided consultant services to a wide range of clients including the National Water Commission, the former Department of Environment and Resource Management, Local Government, Pastoral Companies, Landholders, Natural Resource Management Groups and Environmental Groups. Tom Crothers has received numerous awards from Community Groups and the Queensland Public Service for his strong focus on high quality service delivery. He has an enviable reputation for his broad knowledge of governmental processes and the most effective ways for managing these processes to deliver quality outcomes from a client's perspective.

Tom Crothers retired from the Queensland Public Service in July 2011 after a 35 year career in natural resource management. He started his career in Toowoomba as a soil conservation officer and was appointed to a number of managerial roles of resource management programs in Warwick and Bundaberg before relocating to Brisbane as the Regional Services Director (South East Region) in 2004. In 2006, he was appointed as General Manager of the Water Allocation and Planning Group, a position he held until his retirement from the public service in 2011.

During his public service career he was responsible for the delivery of numerous natural resource management initiatives including; the Areas of Erosion Hazard soil conservation service, the Queensland Landcare initiative, the Integrated Catchment Management program, the Property Management Planning program, the Land Resource Assessment initiative and the Water Planning and Management program. In delivering these programs he acquired an extensive knowledge of the policy settings and statutory provisions associated with a broad range of natural resource management activities, as well as the processes and opportunities for the community and stakeholders to influence the outcomes of government.
